Abri and Vistry recognise the important role the local community has already played in shaping this project and are committed to continued collaboration as it moves forward.
We will work closely with the three local parish councils, the Community Land Trust, the Canal Society, local businesses, and other groups, keeping the community informed with regular updates.
The proposals focus on meeting local needs and strengthening community identity. This includes homes that respond to local demand, affordable housing delivered with partners such as Abri, and a strong emphasis on heritage, sustainability, and biodiversity.
The former airfield runway will become a central park, the war memorial will be relocated to a prominent community space, and sustainable design features will be embedded throughout. Skills and training will also be supported, helping to create a vibrant new heart for Ford.
